How to Slow Down the Aging Process

Nobody likes to look or feel older than they are, but for some of us, our lifestyle choices can age us before our time.  Think of it like a brand new car.  How does your car get old? Over time, two major processes occur, garbage and residue accumulate on all of the internal and external surfaces of your vehicle and simultaneously your car‘s parts wear down and deteriorate.

Let us start by looking at a few examples of your car building up excessive garbage leading to its aging. The interior of your car may accumulate dirt, stains, loose change, and small pieces of paper; grime builds up on the windshield, dashboard, floor mats and seats. Over time this trash will continue to accrue unless this junk is removed and cleaned out. The same process will also occur on your car’s exterior surfaces with road residue, bird droppings, old leaves and various other forms of rubbish building up as well. Even more importantly, the inner working, mechanical aspects of your vehicle will also suffer from the build up of debris. The spark plugs, engine, drive train, brakes, literally any part of your car is subject to the same ravages of time, environment, road conditions and inherent engineering problems that can lead to accumulation of filthy deposits.

The flip side of this process is also true, all of the components of your car, whether structural, mechanical, electrical, and biochemical will deteriorate over time and exhibit signs of aging.  Essentially this collection of metal, fluids, plastic and rubber will be subject to “wear and tear”. The paint will fade and scratch, the tread on your tires becomes thinner, your brake pads wear down as well. The metallic components will rust and weaken. The chassis and suspension will lose their structural integrity. Over time your car will eventually literally fall apart, unless maintenance procedures are done on a regular basis to rebuild and repair the slow deterioration of all these components.

Time and the stressors in your life have similar detrimental effects on your body. As you age, the same process of accumulation of waste products and the “wear and tear” of your parts will eventually lead to a breakdown of your structural, mechanical, biochemical and electrical components.

As you age, “garbage” accumulates to your internal and external components leading to loss of aesthetic appearance, loss of function and consequently an increase in dysfunction, dis-ease and uncomfortable symptoms. For example, your external surface (skin) accumulates lumps and bumps and blemishes as dead (cornified) and burnt (oxidized) material builds up. Your arteries can clog up through the accumulation of calcium and fat deposits to the inner walls of your blood vessels. Your joints can stiffen and thicken via the build up of calcium and fibrotic connective tissue (fiber like). Essentially any and all body parts will undergo this build up of harmful residual material.

Conversely, the effects of time will also manifest via a breakdown of your body components. Your skin will thin from loss of collagen, and stretch from loss of elastin. This weakening process happens to your blood vessels as they deteriorate and become more susceptible to breakdown.

Your bones can thin down (osteoporosis) through the loss of minerals (including calcium, magnesium, boron and others). These vital minerals (especially calcium) can then end up in your blood vessels, your brain, your kidneys, inside your joints and a myriad of other inconvenient places. Your entire physical, chemical and energetic body eventually “falls apart” as the rages of aging ensues.

However, these two main processes of aging, excessive build up of garbage (pathological hyperplasia) and excessive breakdown of normal tissue (pathological disintegration) are not separate occurrences at all, in fact, these disease causing processes are interrelated.

For example, if you scratch your arm (breakdown) it may bleed and then scab (buildup). If the initial injury is not too severe, your skin will repair itself and no long term damage results. However, what happens if your damage is more severe, like a deep cut or a serious burn? Instead of normal tissue replacing the damaged area of your skin, you will be left with a scar. This scar tissue is not normal tissue at all but actually excess connective tissue. This fibrotic scar tissue may remain with you the rest of your life unless your body can remove and replace it with normal skin.

The point that is very important to understand is that pathological disintegration will lead to pathological hyperplasia. This process of the degeneration of tissue (wear and tear) and the build up of scar tissue (accumulation of garbage)is really the root cause of all chronic degenerative conditions and aging itself.

What causes pathological disintegration in the first place? This “wear and tear” is mostly the result of what is known as oxidative stress, the burning up of your body tissues via the use of oxygen. Since a majority of the energy requiring processes in your body utilizes oxygen, it should be apparent to you that living and breathing causes oxidative stress and will eventually lead to pathological disintegration and hence pathological hyperplasia. As stated earlier, a burn (oxidation) will lead to a scar (hyperplasia and fibrosis).

So if the simple act of living and breathing is the main culprit in causing aging and degeneration, then what can be done?

Anti-aging doctors NJ Michael Rothman MD can put you on the path of balance and wellness with holistic aging information and products that show you how to slow down the aging process.

Health and Anti-aging
Modern science finds that not even one-third of our aging process is determined by our genes. That means that the rest is closely related to our physical and emotional wellbeing. How balanced our nutrition and body systems are, how much stress we are subjected to on a daily basis and how we handle this stress determines how fast we age.

When it comes to health and anti-aging, balance is the key. If your body’s systems are imbalanced, you will experience excessive amounts of oxidative stress which will lead to pathological disintegration and eventually pathological hyperplasia. Therefore the most important thing that you can do to slow down the aging process is to reduce your stress in all forms. This means that you need proper nutrition, proper sleep, proper activity levels and a minimum amount of exposure to toxicities.

Therefore, following a holistic aging approach, you can make simple lifestyle choices that will make all the difference.  Eating properly, taking care of your body, and limiting the amount of wear and tear (like you would with a car on maintenance) are the first steps to prevent premature aging. But there are also many natural anti aging products available to help you along the way.

Holistic Aging Products
Anti aging doctors NJ Michael Rothman MD make it easy for you to learn how to slow down the aging process with a number of natural anti aging products available from our online catalog.  Some of the best health and anti-aging products to get your hands on include:

Go Power/ Di-Phasic A.M.- 90 Capsules

Go Power (Diphasic AM) – has multiple ingredients which help defend against pathological hyperplasia.

Carnosine – is a powerful antioxidant, but it also is a deglycating agent meaning that it helps reduce the buildup of sugar residues that can literally “gum up” your proteins, enzymes and other tissues. You may have heard of the test hemoglobin A1C (or glycosylated hemoglobin). This is a test that your doctor may perform to see if you are suffering from chronic high blood sugar. The reason that high sugar is bad is that sugar will stick to various components of your internal physiology to cause damage. Carnosine is one of the most important and powerful anti-glycating agents available.

Carnitine and Acety l-Carnitine– help to bring excess fats into the energy producing parts of your cells (mitochondria) so that these fats can be used as energy rather than building up and causing damage.

Betaine (anhydrous) – also known as trimethyglycine will help to reduce the buildup of Homocysteine a consequence of imbalanced B vitamin metabolism which when oxidized can cause significant damage to tissues in your body.

Alpha Lipoic Acid – in its water soluble form is another powerful anti-oxidant that is also part of multiple metabolic cycles in your body chemistry

Coenzyme Q10 – in its water soluble form is yet another important and powerful antioxidant which is also part of a system that allows your cells to safely derive energy from oxygen. CoQ-10 is depleted by stress and its production is blocked by the use of statin (cholesterol lowering) drugs.

Chondroitin Sulfate – Well known as a product that is “good for your joints” but also has important functions in maintaining the elasticity and integrity of your blood vessels. This product (because of its high electronegative nature) will also reduce the effects of excessive buildup of harmful minerals in your blood stream (like aluminum).

All of the products in Go Power (Diphasic AM) are designed to work synergistically to reduce the effects of pathological hyperplasia, especially when taken with your morning meal when this type of defense is needed most.

Oxy Power/ Di Phasic PM

Oxy Power (Diphasic PM) has multiple ingredients which help defend against pathological disintegration.

Full spectrum Vitamin E (gamma, delta, and beta tocopherol) and Tocotrienols (gamma, alpha, and delta) is an extraordinary blend of fat soluble anti-oxidants that is vitally important to protect against free radical causing oxidative stress.

Alpha Lipoic Acid – in its fat soluble form is another powerful anti-oxidant that is also part of multiple metabolic cycles in your body chemistry

Coenzyme Q10 – in its fat soluble form is yet another important and powerful antioxidant which is also part of a system that allows your cells to safely derive energy from oxygen. CoQ-10 is depleted by stress and its production is blocked by the use of statin (cholesterol lowering) drugs.

All of the products in Oxy Power (Diphasic PM) are designed to work synergistically to reduce the effects of pathological disintegration, especially when taken with your evening meal when this type of defense is needed most.

Activator

Activator is perhaps the most intelligently designed multivitamin on the market. Each and every ingredient in Activator has been carefully chosen and included to be bioactive, bioavailable and in the proper proportions needed for metabolic balance. This extraordinary product is designed to replete the mineral, vitamin, amino acid and cofactor deficiencies that you most likely are experiencing which can lead to dysfunction and disease.

Reducing the effects of aging is not as hard as you might think. If you’re wondering how to slow down the aging process, you must realize that everything you do in life affects how well you age. For the best results, make it a point to minimize stress in all forms and practice balance in your day to day activities.  With the holistic aging help of anti aging doctors NJ Michael Rothman MD, you can reduce the factors that contribute to premature aging and start on a path to health and anti-aging.
