Dr. Michael Rothman MD
Dr. Michael Rothman, MD, an esteemed Functional and Metabolic Medicine Specialist, has devoted over three decades to helping patients understand the “how and why” of their health through his holistic approach to medical treatment.
His unique integration of nutrition, biochemistry, physiology, and physics, coupled with extensive training in environmental illness, medical acupuncture, naturopathy, Reiki, qigong, and oriental martial arts (third degree black belt), has positioned him at the forefront of integrative health. Dr. Rothman’s insights have led to the development of a comprehensive functional and metabolic-focused methodology that merges the best practices of conventional, functional, and naturopathic medicine.
In 2007, Dr. Rothman founded his private practice, offering innovative solutions to chronic health issues by addressing biochemical, biostructural, and bioenergetic imbalances. His extensive training in 2016 with Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker expanded his expertise in Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS), enhancing his understanding of the interplay between chronic inflammation as a major root cause of most chronic diseases.
In 2012, he published his highly acclaimed book, “Edibolic Stress–How the Lies You Are Being Fed Are Making You Sick.” This well researched book delves deeply into the influence of diet on inflammation, blood sugar regulation, hormonal balance and autonomic dysfunction.
Dr. Rothman continues to enhance his knowledge in an effort to tackle complex health conditions such as CIRS, mold related illnesses, Lyme Disease (and co-infections), small intestinal bowel overgrowth (SIBO), small intestinal fungal overgrowth (SIFO), hormonal imbalances, metabolic imbalances and anti–aging.
His early experiences with Crohn’s disease ignited his passion for alternative healing modalities, which has driven his impressive career. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from The State University of NY at Binghamton and an MD from the University of Miami School of Medicine.
Notably certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners, Dr. Rothman also holds board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine and previously the American Board of Emergency Medicine. A former Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, his career is marked by continuous research and in accurately diagnosing and treating the root cause of chronic health issues, solidifying his reputation as a leader in functional medicine and a steadfast advocate for patient-centered care.

For Delma Benvenuti, beauty has always been more than appearance—it is an expression of confidence, vitality, and personal well-being.Delma is married to Dr. Michael Rothman, and they have worked side by side since 2007. As co-owner, office manager, and a Licensed Medical Aesthetician at Michael Rothman, MD, she combines warmth, artistry, and extensive skincare knowledge to ensure that every patient feels genuinely welcomed and beautifully cared for.
Born in the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro, Delma began her career as a model and actress in Brazil in 1970. After moving to New York in 1980, she entered the city’s prestigious runway modeling scene. She later brought her distinctive style and sophistication to fashion coordination and public relations at some of Manhattan’s most exclusive nightclubs.
Delma’s lifelong passion for beauty eventually became her professional calling. In 2007, she became a licensed skincare professional and continued her education through extensive postgraduate studies in advanced skin and body treatments. Her specialized training includes medical-grade chemical peels and manual lymphatic drainage through Vodder-Schöll of Austria.
Inspired by her heritage as the granddaughter of an Indigenous Brazilian woman, Delma thoughtfully blends time-honored beauty traditions with modern aesthetic techniques. Her approach is personal and intuitive, recognizing that every complexion has its own story—and that every patient deserves care designed specifically for them.
Outside the practice, Delma expresses her creativity through gardening and interior design and finds inspiration while traveling throughout Europe. Her international background, artistic eye, and natural gift for caring for others bring a distinctive elegance to everything she does.
