Should We Fear COVID-19?

By Michael Rothman, MD

If you’ve landed on this article, there’s a good chance you may have searched the term “mass formation psychosis.” This term, which is not a scientific term found in research literature, is a term that was used on a Joe Rogan podcast, by medical researcher Robert Malone, M.D. He used it to describe what is currently happening throughout the world where people are accepting of the COVID-19 vaccination and mask mandates. Malone cites Dr. Mattias Desmet’s (professor of Clinical Psychology at the Ghent University, in Belgium) work where he illustrates a phenomenon that happens when people are hypnotized into obedience, similar to those in Nazi Germany.

Whether you are PRO COVID-19 vaccination or ANTI-VAXX, there is one thing that both groups can agree on: no one actually wants to fall ill with COVID-19. I assume Malone and Desmet identify the current global COVID response as “mass formation psychosis” and compare it to Nazi Germany because of the palpable fear most of the global population has of catching COVID-19. This leads me to question, should we fear COVID-19?

The coronavirus has been around for decades. Most coronaviruses aren’t dangerous. It is extremely likely that in your lifetime, you will come in contact with any of the 30 various types of coronavirus. In early 2020, a new type of coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) was discovered and COVID-19 a disease caused by this new type of coronavirus plagued our world. Personally, I do not fear COVID-19. Why? Because I believe in my methods of preventative care of all diseases, including COVID-19. If a person does contract COVID-19, I believe in treatments utilizing Zinc, Vitamin C, Quercetin, and Ivermectin. If you have a higher chance of serious illness because of comorbidity, I support Ivermectin as prophylaxis (intended to prevent disease).

While SARS-CoV-2 is a new type of coronavirus and much of it is still unknown, at Michael Rothman MD, we are continuing to follow the same principles we use to treat other disease. We work to correct the imbalances in your body’s chemistry. Because if you are healthy, your body will be at optimal condition to fight any illness coronavirus or otherwise.
