Conditions We Treat
Systemic Candidiasis (Yeast Syndrome) is a chronic condition where individuals experience intermittent candida (yeast) infections, commonly known as yeast infections. These infections manifest in various forms, including vaginal yeast, athlete’s foot, oral thrush, toenail fungus, and ringworm.
Many people suffering from systemic candidiasis also endure other chronic problems. These include chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, multiple chemical sensitivities (MCS), depression, multiple sclerosis, dementia, paroxysmal orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), and more. Additional symptoms extend to headaches, mood issues, muscle and joint pain, cognitive problems (brain fog), gastrointestinal symptoms (abdominal pain, irritable bowel), unstable body temperature, unexplained rashes, dizziness and vertigo, red and burning eyes, hormonal problems, sleep issues, and unexplained weight gain.
It’s common to perceive candida or yeast infections merely as fungal infections on a mucus membrane, treatable by taking antifungal medications like Diflucan or Nystatin. However, it’s crucial to understand that these yeast infections are often symptoms of Systemic Candidiasis (Yeast Syndrome).
The underlying cause of most cases of Systemic Candidiasis (Yeast Syndrome) is inflammation related to an immune system response to a biological toxin, also known as chronic inflammatory response syndrome (CIRS). Common biological toxins causing or contributing to CIRS include exposure to the contents of a water-damaged building (WDB), like mold, fungus, bacteria, and other organisms, as well as metabolic byproducts of these organisms.
The treatment for Systemic Candidiasis (Yeast Syndrome), which often manifests through recurrent yeast infections, requires an intelligent, systemic approach. This approach includes identifying that you have a case of CIRS through tests, avoiding or removing the offending biological toxin from your environment, using special products to remove biotoxins from your body, and taking steps to restore control to your immune system, hormone system, and nervous system through a metabolically directed functional medicine approach
